We saw talented hosts with extraordinary stays - soulful spaces, rich stories, design in every detail - yet behind the scenes, things weren’t running as smoothly or as steadily as they could be. Calendars full, but systems frayed. Great guests, but unpredictable bookings. Passion, without the process to match.

That’s where The Front Desk comes in. Built for hosts with heart, taste, and talent - we’re here to bring structure, strategy, and calm to the chaos. Think of us as your behind-the-scenes support crew: part strategy, part sanity, and all about helping you create a business that runs as beautifully as your stay looks.

  • The short answer is sort of, we are not a ‘short-term stay management provider’. We can provide behind the scenes support so that if you are using a STSA manager, we can help ensure that it is a successful journey for you, and empower you (with some support in the background) to manage it yourself (with us in your corner). Let’s chat.

  • We work with hosts who care about more than just bookings — they care about meaningful stays. Our clients range from design-led Airbnbs and historic homesteads to remote cabins, multi-use residences, beachside stays, and city apartments competing in dense markets or fighting to establish themselves in remote parts. If you have a story to tell or a problem to solve, we’ll meet you there.

  • Yes - absolutely. Our strategy and 1:1 journey are designed to travel well. We are set up, willing, and able to work with hosts all over the world, adapting our tools and frameworks to suit different markets, guest behaviours, and cultural nuances. From an Italian farmhouse to a New Zealand cabin or a New York brownstone - each has its own rhythm, and our approach is built to meet it.

  • Yes - where possible, we love stepping inside the spaces we help bring to life. While much of our work happens virtually, we do offer in-person visits and on-site consultations by arrangement. Whether it’s walking your property together, refining guest flow, or styling for photography, we (or many of our expert partners) are happy to pack a bag when the project calls for it.

I’m perched on a headland scanning for whales, fishing off the wharf, and wandering empty beaches with coffee and a fresh pastry in hand. There’s always a radio chirping somewhere in the background, a pair of soft old jeans, and a newspaper read cover to cover. I’m a book you can’t put down, an unexpected afternoon nap, long days that end with beachside picnic dinners, steaks on the BBQ, and fresh local oysters. I’m a glass of cold, crisp white wine, a game of Scrabble by a roaring fire, timber floors underfoot, and woolly rugs warming the room.
